Copyright and Licensing Policy
Copyright Ownership
Authors retain full copyright ownership of their work. Unlike traditional publishing models where copyright is transferred to the journal, NTU-JPS requires only a non-exclusive "License to Publish." This means:
- Authors retain the right to reuse their work, create derivative works, or use it for educational purposes without restriction.
- Authors retain all moral rights, including the right to be properly credited.
- NTU-JPS is granted the right of first publication and the right to distribute the article.
Licensing (CC BY 4.0)
All articles published in NTU-JPS are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. This is the industry standard for Open Access publishing.
Under this license, anyone is free to:
- Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
- Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.
Condition of Use:
- Attribution: You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
Author Responsibilities
By submitting a manuscript to NTU-JPS, authors confirm that:
- The work is original and has not been published elsewhere.
- They have secured necessary permissions for any third-party material (images, data, figures) used in the manuscript.
- All co-authors have approved the final version and agree to this policy.
Self-Archiving and Digital Preservation
NTU-JPS encourages the self-archiving of research to ensure long-term visibility and preservation.
Allowed Versions for Archiving: Authors are permitted to deposit all versions of their paper in an institutional or subject repository immediately:
- Pre-print: The version submitted to the journal before peer review.
- Accepted Manuscript: The version accepted after peer review but before typesetting.
- Published Version of Record (PDF): The final, formatted PDF published by NTU-JPS.
Embargo Period: None (Zero embargo).
Recommended Repositories: We encourage authors to archive their work in:
- Institutional Repositories (e.g., university libraries).
- Subject-specific repositories (e.g., arXiv, ResearchGate).
- National or funder-mandated databases.
Licensing Transparency
To ensure legal clarity for humans and machine-reading tools:
- Website: The CC BY 4.0 terms are clearly displayed on the journal footer and submission pages.
- Article Level: Every published article (PDF, HTML, XML) contains a licensing statement:
"© [Year] The Author(s). Published by NTU Journal of Pure Sciences. This article is an open access article distributed under the terms and conditions of the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license."
