Editorial Timeline
Submission to Publication
NTU Journal of Pure Sciences (NTU-JPS) is committed to a transparent, timely and ethically-robust editorial process. The information below summarises our typical processing times, how they are calculated, and summary editorial statistics drawn from our system.
Average processing times
| Stage | Average time |
|---|---|
| Submission ? First editorial decision | 15–19 days |
| Submission ? Final decision (accept or reject) | ~30–45 days (varies by number of revision rounds) |
| Submission ? Publication (accepted ? published in issue) | ~60–90 days (includes copyediting, typesetting, and assignment to next scheduled issue) |
Notes: These averages are calculated from manuscript records in the OJS system for the recent reporting period. Times vary by article type and by rounds of revision. Accepted manuscripts are scheduled into our quarterly issues (12 January, 12 April, 12 July, 12 October).
Editorial integrity, ethics & indexing alignment
NTU-JPS follows a formal double-blind peer review process and maintains clear editorial policies, including ownership and governance, peer review details, conflicts of interest, corrections and retractions, and complaints handling. These practices reflect the transparency and ethical standards expected by major ethics and indexing organisations.
Improvements & reliability
During 2024 the journal underwent an editorial reconstitution (new editorial board appointed June 2024). To strengthen timeliness and reliability the new board has:
- Published and enforced a fixed quarterly schedule: 12 January, 12 April, 12 July, 12 October.
- Introduced stricter internal deadlines for initial screening, reviewer selection and production handoff.
How we calculate these numbers
Processing times and acceptance/rejection rates are taken directly from the OJS system reports for the selected reporting period. Where we report a range (e.g., 15–19 days), this reflects variation between recent reporting intervals; full OJS reports are available to the editorial team on request.
